We provide care and support to individual’s living with the early to mid stages of dementia and other conditions relating to older age. Oakwood Rest home can provide support for up to 30 people. With spacious grounds and ample facilities there is plenty of opportunity to live life the way you choose, you can have company or some peace an quiet and this will always be respected. A range of daily meals and snacks are provided that cater individual choice and dietary requirements and your visitors are welcome to dine with you at any time. A variety of hot and cold drinks are always available. We want you to enjoy yourself and lead life at the pace you choose, there is plenty to do and new friends to make.
More importantly, our team of hand picked and trained staff , many of whom having worked with us for some time, are on hand twenty four hours a day, to meet you needs. With their help we strive to provide a homely, comfortable, safe and above all happy environment that allows you to remains as independent as possible.

Acquired by the present owners in July 2004 Oakwood has benefitted from continued refurbishment and conforms to all standards and regulations under the Care Standards Act, regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Unityone Ltd took over Elizabeth Lawrence Rest Home (as it was known then) in July 2004. When the home was taken over by current providers the registration was for elderly residential care. In 2005 Elizabeth Lawrence was rebranded to reflect the new ownership as Oakwood Rest Home. At the same time the home was also registered to provide dementia residential care. This required some adjustments to the building as well as further investment in specialist advanced Dementia training for all staff.
Oakwood focuses on providing high quality care whilst maintaining a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. The Home enjoys a range of activities, entertainers and days out to local attractions organised by their dedicated Activities Coordinator.
Oakwood is a friendly, top quality care home for elderly residents, dementia care residents and respite care. Most of our residents come from or have family in the surrounding areas
