Our Home

Oakwood offers luxury, spacious rooms to all our residents. Each room is equipped with en-suites, including a shower facilities.

All rooms are fully furnished, but residents are able to bring their own furniture should they wish to for familiarity.

We have a very large lounge area where residents are able to interact and engage in social activities. We also have a smaller ‘quiet’ lounge where residents are able to enjoy their own company and some quiet time.

All meals are freshly prepared to have that home cooked taste, with the use of fresh produce whenever we can. The chef provides a regularly varied menu along with catering for special diets (diabetic, low fat etc.) The home also has excellent relations with local GP surgeries and hospitals who provide full support.

Respite Care

Respite Care at Oakwood is offered for dementia care and elderly care. Rather than long term care, respite care is normally short term – maybe one or two weeks or more to get over a long illness, operation or afford the usual carer a break. Our Respite Care residents are treated no differently to our long-term residents. They are welcome to join in all activities, day trips (if space is available) and enjoy our lovely gardens.

Residents are able, wherever possible, to live their lives as independently as possible. They are encouraged to remain active as long as possible and participate in as many activities as they are able to manage, subject to their own limitations; likes and dislikes.

We welcome both long and short stay residents, including respite care, whether privately funded or assisted by Social Services. Any special dietary requirement is catered for.

The Home helps clients to lead their individual lifestyles whenever possible by encouraging existing and new interests and providing varied activities for those interested. Friends and family are welcomed at any time to spend time with their relative/s.
